Koireng, Gorkha successful/meritorious students feted

The Koren (Koireng) Youth Organisation, Manipur (KYO-M) organised a felicitation ceremony cum blessing programme for successful students of class X and XII along with the individual achievers in different fields belonging to Koireng community at Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Chingmeirong, here, on Saturday.
The event was attended by Saikul MLA Kimneo Haokip Hangshing as chief guest, KYO-M president R Ngirsoreng Boipu Koireng as functional president, CAU scientist Dr R Joseph Koireng special guest and APS to MD of MPHC SR Khupsel Koireng as guest of honour.
The event was also attended by village leaders, intellectuals, well-wishers and village authority/youth club/women's society leaders of Koireng tribe settling in Manipur.
Altogether, 35 Koireng students, who passed class X and XII examinations under various boards and councils this year and two outstanding individual achievers namely Tumtin Sonmang Koren, who was awarded PhD degree by NEHU, and Wanbe Chungreng Koren, who won Matrix Fight Night (MFN 8), were felicitated by presenting memento, citation and certificate.
Meanwhile, All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union (AMGSU), Kalapahar Unit organised a felicitation programme for all Nepali students in the area who passed class X and XII examination-2022 at Vidya Bharati DR Kharel Bal Vidya Mandir, Kalapahar on Saturday.
In a release, AMGSU Kalapahar Unit informed that the programme was attended by Manipur University Department of Commerce head Kh Tomba Singh as chief guest and AMGSU CC president L B Adhikari as guest of honour.
During the event, the chief guest addressed the students by giving examples of life lessons he learned and also encouraged them to focus on acquiring quality education.
He also said that Gorkha community is the most hard-working community as well as love-spreading community in the society.
AMGSU Kalapahar Unit also presented a memento each to all Nepali language-teaching schools in and around Kalapahar for encouraging and promoting the Nepali language.
