Imphal, September 12 2024: Committee of Forward Clubs (Thongju), Apunba Meira Paibi Lup and Asem Leikai Development Club have appealed to all concerned not to hold protest late in evening in Kakwa area and urged for citing reason for the protest, if any planned, to the locals.

In separate releases, the local organisations stated that late night protests in the last two-three days created anxiety among Kakwa residents.

Urging the protestors to make the locals aware about the objective of the late night protests in and around Kakwa in the recent past, they contended that most of the protestors were not locals but came from different places in vehicles.

While disclosing that organisers of the students' rally confirmed conclusion of the same by evening, they opined that the violent protests which continued till late night might be due to certain vested interest groups trying to sabotage true movement of the people.

Stating that the recent late night protest at Kakwa has caused serious problems to people having health issues and the aged, the local bodies called late night protest as irrational while asserting that Kakwa denizens will not back off from genuine mass movement.
