Imphal, February 12 2025: Rising knowledge Club and Thangmeiband Polem Leikai Meira Paibi Apunba jointly organised a sit-in protest against the death of Loukrakpam Ningol Ngangbam ongbi Debala Devi near Senapati bus parking, Khoyathong on Wednesday.

The sit-in protest demanded authorities concerned to look into the death of the pregnant woman due to alleged negligence of Hillside Charitable Hospital and JNIMS, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology HOD and consultant of the deceased within 24 hours.

Speaking on the sidelines of the protest, Thangmeiband Polem Leikai Meira Paibi executive member Sundari Loitongbam recounted that Debala was nine months pregnant and receiving treatment at Hillside Charitable Hospital under the care of JNIMS Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology HOD as the consultant.

However, due to negligence on the part of the hospital and the consultant concerned, Debala passed away, Sundari said, and demanded that authorities concerned investigate the death of the pregnant woman within 24 hours for befitting action against the hospital and the consultant.
