Road side vendors briefed on Covid-19 SOPs

As the government has recently lifted the restrictions and daytime curfew, Committee on Covid-19 carried out a campaign to create awareness on Covid relevant SOPs among the roadside vendors so as to prevent transmission of viral disease.
The campaign was organised under the theme Maintain SOP, stay safe and health, let's fight Covid-19 together'.
In a statement, the Committee informed that the campaign was organised keeping in view of the trade activities, which have resumed after the government lifted the daytime curfew.
With roadside vendors continuing their trade activities, people from different parts of the state are also coming out to buy vegetables and other daily essential items.
The increasing crowd has become a matter of concern which is why the Committee carried out the campaign with 50 volunteers Jed by chairman W Second and convener M Premjit.
Interacting with the media, W Second appealed to the roadside vendors to strictly follow the protocols laid down by the government and the public to follow Covid appropriate behaviour while coming out from home and wear mask properly.
Unless the public follow the protocols and appropriate behaviour, the government might re-impose curfew, he said.
Meanwhile, Premjit said that the state is facing huge impact of Covid-19 second wave due to negligence and appealed to all to follow Covid appropriate behaviour.
The campaign was carried out from Konung Mamang to Wangkhei Keithel Ashangbi, and from Uripok Cheirap Court to RIMS corner.
Masks were also provided free of cost to people found without one and customers were advised to stand in queue while maintaining social distancing.
The team also distributed immune booster medicines recommended and allocated by AYUSH department, he said and appealed to all to cooperate with the Committee in the campaign, which will continue in days to come as well as in other parts of the state.
