MU, MUC teams shine at 37th NE Fest

Imphal, February 11 2024:
The cultural team of Manipur University (MU) won several awards in various competitions organised as part of the 37th North East Zone Youth Festival at Royal Global University, Assam from February 6 to 10 .
A 54-member team led by MUSU cultural secretary Harlyson Ngathem, team managers MU assistant professors Dr Ksh Narayan Singh and Dr L Subhadra Devi left Imphal on February 5 to participate in the festival.
The team's achievements included as first position in cultural procession, classical instrumental solo percussion, group song western; second position in classical vocal solo, western instrumental solo; third position in collage and mimicry; fourth position in elocution and folk/tribal dance; and fifth position in debate, poster making, cartooning, installation, one act play, mime, western vocal solo, and folk orchestra.
Manipur University of Culture (MUC) also won the fourth position at the said Youth Festival 2023.In all 15 universities from the northeast region took part in the festival and competed in 27 events.
During the festival, MUC bagged 15 medals and finished overall fourth.
A 40-member team led by team managers Prof Manju Elangbam and Toijam Shila Devi represented MUC in the festival.
