State BJP enrols five new faces

Imphal, November 10 2014: Manipur BJP today enrolled five new members in the party which has planned a strategy to cover all sections of the society and enroll maximum members under the on-going membership drive launched on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the state BJP has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the upcoming Sangai Festival.

The Manipur Government has already invited Modi to attend the closing ceremony of the state's biggest tourism festival on November 30 .

"We've accepted registration of Phijam Pakchao, Potsangbam Gram Panchayat Pradhan Meisnam Mangi, Potsangbam Gram Pannchayat Awang Wabagai members Okram Ibungobi, Khuntongbam Dhiren and Mayengbam Purnima as new members of the state BJP," Manipur BJP president Th Chaoba told a press meet at the party office here.

The state BJP is set to enrol 1 lakh new members in the party by March next year under the on-going national membership drive launched by the Prime Minister in New Delhi on November 1 .

Chaoba said BJP Manipur Pradesh has set a target to enrol 1 lakh members in the party fold by March next year under the membership drive.

He added that state BJP has also invited the Prime Minister to the upcoming Sangai Festival and requested him to inaugurate memorial halls of Dr Din Dayal and Dr Syam Prasad Mookherjee constructed inside the state BJP office complex.
