Class-XII exam disrupted at two centres in Chandel

The ongoing class XII examination conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) was disrupted at two centres in Chandel district on Saturday after invigilators seized cheat notes from a candidate at South East Manipur Higher Secondary School, Komlathabi centre.
As per report culled from the spot, invigilators who were on duty at the exam centre seized cheat notes from a candidate belonging to St Joseph's Higher Secondary School, Kuraopok-pi on the second day of the examination when students gave their exam on Alternative English/Manipuri/ Thadou Kuki paper.
However, other candidates of the Kuraopokpi school protested seizure of cheat notes from their colleague candidate and stopped giv ing exam.
The students then went to Sinanu Higher Secondary School, Maringphai, Pallel exam centre where students of South East Manipur Higher Secondary School are giving the exam and prevented students from writing their exam.
The protesting students also smashed school properties and tore off answer papers.
In the follow up incident, students of the Komlathabi school, who were giving their exam at Sinanu Higher Secondary School returned to their school and lodged strong protest.
A large team of police from Chandel, Machi and Pallel led by SP Chandel Hemant Pandey managed to control the situation and transported students of South East Manipur Higher Secondary School on police vehicles to their examination centre and allowed them to write their examination peacefully.
Students of St Joseph's Higher Secondary School were also allowed to give examination at South East Manipur Higher Secondary School exam centre.
