Eat Right Mela held in Tamenglong

Tamenglong, August 09 2022: The Food Safety Administration, Tamenglong in collaboration with Food Safety and Standard Authority of India (FSSAI) organised "Eat Right Walkathon and Eat Right Mela" on the theme "Eat Safe, Eat Healthy & Eat Sustainable" at Tamenglong town multi-purpose hall on Tuesday.

Tamenglong deputy commissioner Pawan Yadav attended the programme as chief guest , SP Anupam as guest of honour and CMO Dr G Majachunglu as functional president.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Pawan stressed on the need to maintain a balanced diet and regular exercise to live a healthy life.

While emphasising on plantation of regular supply of organic vegetables in one's garden for healthy diet, he pointed out that similar to Sikkim producing the highest quantity of organic food in the country, Manipur is also focusing on producing more organic produces in the coming years.

Meanwhile, SP Anupam advised the public to avoid eating junk food and street food to avoid health issues.

A special talk on healthy food habits was delivered by State Public Health Lab of Medical Directorate food analyst Ch Sanajaoba Meitei.

The programme was also attended by Tamenglong ADC CEO Kachamthai Faiga Gangmei, SDO Imosana and Food Safety Administration designated officer N Debendro Singh as presidium members.

Cultural dance, song presentation, food exhibition and quiz competition were organised as a [art of the programme.
