Man found dead, two arrested

Imphal, September 08 2022:
A man was found mysteriously dead in a small shed located opposite Water Amusement Park at Awang Potshangbam under Hein gang police station on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Abonmai Tingshangliangbou alias Ningthou (40) s/o Abonmai Lunghton of Potshangbam Khunou Kabo Siphai.
According to a police re port, the locals reported the discovery of body of a man inside a shed at a nearby paddy held.
Heingang PS took up an unnatural death (UD) case and arrived at the scene with a team of mobile forensic unit of Imphal East and SDC Heingang.
An inquest of the body showed bruises underneath the temple and on the hands, and bleeding from the nose, ears and eyes.
Heingang PS has shifted the body to JNIMS Mortuary for post mortem examination.
The report further stated that as part of investigation, police have arrested two of Tingshangliangbou's drinking buddies, identified as Chingangbam Thoiba (58) s/o Chaoba of Potshangbam Khunou Mamang Leikai and Longjam Mani (58) s/o (L) Dhulon of Potshangbam Khunou Mayai Leikai, for interrogation.
Meanwhile, addressing a press meet held at Manipur Press Club here, JAC member Abonmai Hopsan raised suspicions of foul play in Tingshangliangbou's death, considering the bruises found on his body and bleeding from his eyes, ears and nose.
Tingshangliangbou had gone out of his house at around 4.30 pm Wednesday and was found dead on Thursday morning.
Condemning the incident, Hopson stated that the body will not be claimed uptil the authorities concerned investigate the truth in the case and apprehend the person(s) responsible.
Any delay in doing so will invite intense agitations, he cautioned, while stating that the government would be held responsible for any unwanted consequences.
