Inferno destroys house, shop; two injured

Thoubal, May 08 2022: A house and a shop, which belong to one Md Rahmatullah of Lilong Lou Manga, were reduced to ashes in a fire incident that occurred around 4.30 pm on Sunday and left two members of the family critically injured.

Local sources said that the fire originated from gas leak leading to explosion of LPG cylinder in the kitchen and engulfing the house along with the shop located adjacent to the house.

Md Rahmatulla and his eldest son suffered serious injuries in the incident.

They were first evacuated to Noor Hospital, Lilong by a team of Lilong PS from where both were referred to RIMS hospital as their condition deteriorated.

Properties worth around Rs 10 lakh were lost in the incident, the sources estimated.
