Imphal, October 06 2024:
The People's Chronicle columnist Jos Chongtham, who is also film-maker and content creator, has appealed to Arambai Tenggol to reconsider 'severe' decision taken against him for communicating with a KSO member and appealed to socio-cultural organisation not to threaten his family members.
Issuing a clarification vis-a-vis allegations levelled against him by two socio-cultural organisations namely Meitei Leepun and Arambai Tenggol, Jos appealed to the organisations to find out truth regarding the incidents involving him and accordingly take decision.
According to Jos, he has been making short documentary videos related to the ongoing violence since May 3, 2023 and had interviewed some prominent personalities of the state like CM Biren, Brinda Thounaojam, Bimol Akoijam, RK Nimai, Khuraijam Athouba, Dr Dhanabir Laishram, Ashang Kasar and others.
"To make the documentary videos inclusive by interviewing Kuki leaders, I managed to communicate with Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) member Jackson," Jos said in a statement while admitting that he had interviewed some members of the Kuki community through Jackson.
According to Jos, the allegation levelled against him by Meitei Leepun relates to forwarding a message sent through a whatsapp group named 'Be the Change - Oja Bimol Akoijam' while the accusation by Arambai Tenggol is centred on his conveyance with KSO member Jackson.
