Imphal, September 06 2024:
Thangmeiband MLA Kh Joykisan said that the crisis in the state is no longer an ethnic conflict with the latest escalation of using drone warfare hinting involvement of foreign hands.
As such, this is no longer a situation the village volunteers should face but the Central government take the lead and utilise the central security forces to tackle the.
situation.
Speaking during inauguration of a toilet block of Nagamapal Kangjabi Leirak community hall constructed by JCI, Imphal Iconics with his Support, Joykisan expressed hope for a solution to the crisis.
However, he said, the Central government should give up the notion of Meeteis being non Indian and acknowledge the public resentment against the central forces in dealing with the situation and act accordingly.
Only then, peace could be restored in the state, he said.
Since the recent escalation of the violence has provided substantial hints of the involvement of foreign hands, it is no longer a fight for the village volunteers but for the central forces.
People will also have a sense of security the day the government entrust the central forces with full power to deal with the anti-social forces at play, opined the MLA.
Regarding construction of the toilet block, Joykisan said that JCI Imphal Iconics is an organisation of women committed to addressing social issues and mitigating public inconveniences.
He then assured all possible help from his side to activities of the organisation as well as to complete the second floor of the community hall early next year.
