ATSUM, TKLI condemn assault on Tangkhul couple

All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) today registered strong condemnation against the alleged molestation and thrashing mercilessly of a Tangkhul couple who return from dinner by some Meeteis recently in the national capital.
Simthar Jajo, Secretary, Rights and Reservation ATSUM said when the North Eastern people are fighting racial discrimination in the capital and are the object of lust from the mainlanders it is disgusting that we our self have become the victims as well as offenders.
This people should not have any place in today's world.
It is also very unfortunate that the pregnant lady has to lose her inborn baby due to the inhuman thrashing all over her body, asserted Simthar while adding that ATSUM feels very sorry for the couple for the physical and mental harassment they have experienced specially from undergoing premature abortion.
ATSUM, meanwhile, appealed to all not to communalized the incident but rather condemn the persons involve and take appropriate action befitting the gravity of the crime does committed before adding that it is time that good sense prevails in our society.
While lauding the Delhi Police for their swift and immediate action in arresting two of the accused in the inhuman activities the tribal student apex body expressed hope that there will be no political interferences in the case as it is learnt that a son of an MP was also involved in the heinous crime.
Tangkhul Katamnao Long Imphal (TKLI) has also strongly condemned the incident and appealed to all to condemn such act but not to communalise the issue.
