'The Yellow Sparrow' shortlisted for Rainbow Award

'The Yellow Sparrow', a memoir by Santa Khurai and translated by Rubani Yumkhaibam, has been shortlisted for the Rainbow Award at the Rainbow Literature Festival, South Asia's largest and most inclusive literary platform.
The festival will take place on December 7 and 8, at Gul Mohor Park in Delhi, during which the award winners will be announced on the first day.
Published by The Speaking Tiger, 'The Yellow Sparrow' joins two other non fiction finalists, Mental Health Journey' and "The Grammar of My Body' .
Santa Khurai, a transgender author from North East India, expressed pride in being selected among such distinguished works, noting that the nomination itself is an extraordinary recognition.
She expressed hope that her work, which sheds light on her experiences as a transgender individual, will, inspire other trans writers to share their stories, fostering a more inclusive and diverse literary landscape.
The Rainbow Literature Festival, known for celebrating varied voices and perspectives, has been a platform for both established and emerging writers across Asia amplifying marginalised voices, making an impact on literature and inclusivity in the region.
