Sit-ins condemn killing of SDPO; many condole

Kongpal Khaidem Leikai Apunba Nupi Lup organised sit-in protest at Kongpal Khaidem Leikai market shed on Saturday in denunciation of the killing of Moreh SDPO Chingtham Anandkumar by Kuki militants on October 31 .
Speaking on the sidelines of the protest, a protestor condemned killing of the police officer and demanded immediate arrest of those involved in the crime.
Demanding handing over the case to NIA or CBI, the woman protestor said that they will never remain silent until justice is delivered.
The Lup will endorse all the protests launch in connection with killing of the SDPO, she added.
Meanwhile, in separate releases, Joint Administrative Council of AMTUC & AMGEO and All Manipur Teli Association expressed shock over the murder of Moreh SDPO Anandkumar.
While praying for the departed soul to rest in peace, they shared pain and grief of the bereaved family and observed two minutes' silence as a mark of respect to the officer.
For the third day on Saturday, demonstrations were held at different locations across the valley district.
The protesters condemned the killing of the SDPO Moreh apart from demanding deployment of additional forces at Moreh border town in Tengnoupal district to drive out Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists who have been engaged in various forms of illegal activities including relentless attacks on people residing in the valley districts of the state.
On Saturday, sit-in was also staged at Khegempali during which the attendees observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the soul of Anand Kumar and prayed that the departed may rest in peace in the heavenly abode.
