Activities of District Health Society reviewed

Chandel, September 03 2014: District Health Society, Chandel on Wednesday conducted a review meeting under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner of Chandel Robert Singh Kshetrimayum IAS, who is also chairman of the DHS at district hospital Chandel.

This was the first time ever that DC/DHS Chairman has attended a District Review meeting on National Health Mission, Dr.N.Birchandra, Mission Director/CMO, Dr.Romi Ngoru, DIO/Convenor, DHS, Dr.Benedict Maring, State AYUSH Consultant and Arun Meitram, RMNCH+ Consultant were also present during the meeting which was attended by all DPMUs, BPMUs and Concern MOi/c of all health facilities in the district.

During the meeting, there was the 1st quarter Performance presentation from all the blocks under NHM and the DC/DHS Chairman stressed on importance of addressing the issues such as staff shortage, infrastructure, transportation, regular power and water supply, network connectivity and ambulance availability in all the blocks for ensuring better accessibility of health services by public and in effective implementation of the various programmes by NHM Staffs.

At the same time, he also suggested to District and Block level NHM Staffs to make awareness on available health services from the grass roots level onwards.

The meeting ended on a positive note.

Meanwhile, DHS Chandel has extended gratitude and appreciation to DC/DHS Chairman Chandel and other State officials who attended despite their other official work commitments.
