Patanjali Yoga Nongin celebrates foundation day

Patanjali Yoga Nongin (PYN) celebrated its 3rd foundation day at the Chingmeirong Maning Leikai residence of Sinam Subashchandra on Sunday.
Speaking as chief guest of the function, education minister Th Basantakumar highlighted the health benefits of practicing yoga every day and commended launch of online yoga classes by PYN in the midst Covid-19 pandemic.
It would be more beneficial to the public if PYN organises meditation, workshop and training sessions as the pandemic situation has improved, he opined.
On the other-hand, he said that the government is trying to make students learn not only bookish knowledge but also other co-curricular activities, and as such initiative of no bag Saturdays has been launched in schools.
Urging people in higher position to adopt government schools in their respective localities, the education minister maintained that the government is preparing to launch school adoption programme.
"Give information to me directly if there is any inadequacies in schools", he said, while assuring of taking up all necessary initiatives.
He also appealed to all for extending all possible help to victims of the Noney district landslide and show that people are there for them.
The foundation day celebration presided over by High Court senior advocate and PYN treasurer Chingabam Dhananjoy was also attended by DDK director Naorem Hemanta, PYN secretary general Sinam Ibungoton and joint secretary Sinam Subashchandra as presidium members.
A souvenir titled 'PYNKHOL' was also released and participants of All India Yogasana Sports Championship, 2022 felicitated as a part of the celebration.
