Imphal, June 01 2022:
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president K Meghachandra has informed that the party along with state CSOs would be re-visiting the sites where disappearance of border pillars and incursion into the state's territory have been reported.
On Wednesday, the party extended welcomed former PYC president L Memo and NCP Sekmai AC candidates N Popilal to MPCC in a function held at Congress Bhawan here.
Responding to questions during the event, Meghachandra said that it has been the prolonged demand of Congress party to preserve the state's territory.
It had repeatedly apprised the centre that the border fencing is leading to loss of the state's land.
Although a central team came to the state for the matter, no follow-up action has been taken up.
In addition, the CSOs have been demanding a solution on the matter but no positive response has been given.
Thus, Congress along with the CSOs will be revisiting the border areas to check on the disappearing territory of the state including the border pillars which have been erected deep inside Manipur's territory, he conveyed, while adding that the party would be again pressuring the central and state governments regarding the border fencing and border pillars issue.
