Delay in compensation payment condemned

NH 102B Affected Chiefs' Association has strongly condemned the 'Intentional' mismanagement and delayed payment of supplementary compensation to the people affected by the construction of NH 102B (zero point to Singhat) .
In a release, NH102B Affected Chiefs' Association decried that they have been continuously misled with false promises in the last two agreements including one signed on May 22 under the chairmanship of TA&H minister Vungzagin Valte and another one signed on September 13 in the presence additional deputy commissioner Churachandpur Khaikhopau Ngaihte at the residence of Singhat MLA Ginsuanhau Zou, for the final payment of the supplementary compensation due to be completed by November 30 .
With regard to the issue, another meeting was held on Monday at DC's conference hall, Mini-Secretariat, Churachandpur under the chairmanship of DC Pawan Yadav along with representatives of NHIDCL and contractors, but after several hours of discussion, the meeting ended without any positive result, it informed.
The Association now has decided to continue the work site bandh along the NH 102B (zero point to Singhat) and as such, it would not allow any movement of goods or vehicles belonging to or associated with NHIDCL.
It also called for support and cooperation of the public and to bear with any inconveniences, till an amicable solution is reached on the matter.
