PREPAK (Pro), KYKL, PLA cadres arrested

Imphal, August 27 2022: A team of Imphal East district police commando arrested a cadre of the proscribed PREPAK (PRO) and recovered 9mm pistol with three rounds, a Chinese hand grenade and a mobile phone from his possession from Ngariyan Muslim area on Saturday around 1 pm.

The arrested cadre identified as Moirangthem Dina alias Ngakpa (25) s/o Babu of Wangoo Chairen Khongnang Leikai, reportedly revealed that he joined PREPAK (PRO) in 2017 under one Baksh and is currently working under the command of outfit's self-styled sergeant major Poiton.

As per Poiton s instructions, he had procured the 9m pistol and hand grenade from an unidentified person at Huikap, Imphal East district.

He also collected money from another identified person from Sekmai with one Ishingchaoba (35) of Langthabal in March this year.

Both the cadre and the seized items have been handed over to Andro PS for further legal action.

Meanwhile, special commando unit, Khabeisoi arrested an active cadre of proscribed RPF/PLA identified as Ningthoujam Chinglensana alias Senloi Singh (22), son of Dharam of Singda Kadangband, from Keibi Maning Leikai on Saturday.

According to a source, a team of special commando unit rushed to Keibi Maning Leikai upon receiving information from 4th AR and arrested Chinglensana from near Keibi Maning Leikai community hall around 2.10 pm.

Upon questioning, Chinglensana confided that he joined RPF/PLA through one Bisharup in 2016 and his army no is 3295.He is working under self-styled Major Sagei and Major Boicha of RPF/PLA.

The arrested cadre has been handed over to Sagolmang police station for further necessary legal actions.

On the other-hand, a combined team of CDO Thoubal and 16 Assam Rifles apprehended a cadre of the proscribed KYKL from Heirok Part-I Heitupokpi Kairenbikhok Lamkhai on Saturday afternoon.

The arrested cadre has been identified as Okram Amarjit Singh alias Manaobi alias Raj (29) s/o (L) O Premjit Singh of Wangjing Heitupokpi.

According to a police report, the team arrested Amarjit at around 3pm on Saturday and recovered one .32 pistol with magazine containing 3 rounds from his possession.

On questioning, Amarjit revealed that he joined the outfit in July 2010 through one Chingkheinganba and received 45 days basic military training under army No 781 of 30th batch of KYKL.

He was promoted to the rank of lance corporal in February, 2013.He had been arrested by CDO Thoubal in 2015 but released on bail.

He joined KYKL again in August this year through one Ingocha of Thanga of KYKL, the report conveyed.
