Debate competition organised

In connection with the 12th foundation day of Koijam Kamini Devi Memorial Library (KKDML) and THAU Information Centre (TIC), a debate competition was conducted at THAU Sports Complex, Thangmeiband on Thursday.
The programme organised by KKDML & TIC in collaboration with Youth Collective Manipur and Debaters' Union was attended by KKDML patron in-chief Radhabinod Koijam, KKDML chairman Khumukcham Momon, THAU president N Ranjit, KKDML administrator Dr Koijam Arunkanta and assistant administrator retired colonel Shantikumar Sapam as presidium members.
Speaking at the programme, Radhabinod Koijam recalled that the library was established in memory of his mother Koijam Kamini in 2009 with an aim to give knowledge to youth and inspire them to reach their highest capability and bring good governance in the state.
As a part of the programme, a debate on the topic 'Setting qualification criteria for election candidates will elect good representatives and lead to better governance' was held with advocate Dr Ch Narendra presiding as speaker and three participants each from treasury and opposition bench presenting the pros and cons of the topic.
