Demise of prominent Manipuris condoled

Imphal, May 25 2021: Condolences continued to pour in from various organisations over the untimely demise of prominent Manipuris in the last few days.

Ima Panthoibi Sana Keithel Lup, Meetei Erol Eyek Loinasil-lol Apunba Lup, Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur (PLMPAM) and All Manipur Women's Voluntary Association condoled the demise of PLM-PAM founder general secretary and Women Association for Socio Economic Development advisor Ema Akoijam Janaki on May 23 while Tammi Chingmi Apunba Nupi Lup, Sharmila Kanba Lup (SKL) and Just Peace Foundation (JPF) mourned the death of SKL former convener Akoijam Janaki and former health service director Dr Thiyam Suresh.

All Manipur Health Services Doctors' Association (AMHS-DA) has also conveyed deep condolences over the demise of its advisor former Health Service director Dr Thiyam Suresh.

United Club's Organisation of Bishnupur District, Meira Paibi Apunba Lup, Nambol Area Meira Paibi Apunba Lup, All Thanga Meira Paibi Organisation and Wangoo Kumbi Meira Paibi Lup along with Pangal Students' Organisation (PSO), Manipur have expressed deepest condolences over the demise of PLMPAM publicity secretary RK Sanahanbi Devi and prayed for peaceful repose of the departed soul in its heavenly abode.

A condolence meeting was held by members of AMUCO, PLMPAM, AMAWOVA and COHR at AMUCO office on Tuesday to mourn the death of Meira Paibi Welfare Association, Kangleipak (MEPWARK) general secretary Tongbram Prembala (Heiyai) Devi on Monday due to Covid-19, a joint release said.

Manipur State Kala Akademi, meanwhile, deeply mourned the sudden demise of eminent artistes of Manipur - Manoharshai Khol guru (L) Hijam Goura Singh and one of the early visionaries of Manipur theatre (L) Elangbam Joychan-dra Singh.

In another release, Critics Forum Manipur condoled the death of noted drama director, playwright, singer, songwriter and actor E Joychandra.
