It was very unfortunate that the local MLA was disallowed to participate during the inauguration of western gate of Manipur in Jiribam, known as Nongshaba Sanathong, stated Jiribam MLA Ashab Uddin's nominee M Promen.
Briefing media persons at Satbhayana Mandap, Sonapur on Wednesday, Promen recounted that chief minister N Biren inaugurated Nongshaba Sanathong when he visited Jiribam on Tuesday to launch 'Go to Village 2.0' for Jiribam district.
People of Jiribam thank chief minister for inaugurating the western gate of Manipur during the visit but disallowing local MLA from taking part in the inauguration event of the gate despite staying together with the chief minister disheartened people of the district, he said and demanded to know those who orchestrated the event and left out the MLA deliberately.
He also said that not inviting the local MLA to attend the inauguration event of an important project executed in Jiribam district indeed was dishonouring of the entire people of the district and appealed to all concerned not to repeat such act in future.
The press conference was also attended by social worker Biswambar, Sonapur GP former pradhan Haider Ali, All Jiribam Tribal Union president Renkung Changsat and leaders of several organisations based in Jiribam.
