DC flags off biggest ever tree plantation drive in Senapati

Making it the biggest ever tree plantation project in Senapati District, Deputy Commissioner Jacintha Lazarus, IAS in a grand ceremony flagged off a "tree plantation at catchment area of Taphou Naga water supply scheme under MGNRGES" during a function at the public ground of Senapati DHQ today.
Lauded by many, the innovative mega project participated by over 19 villages aimed at creating a permanent solution to the problem of water scarcity issues in Senapati DHQ.
Apart from the good attendance of hundreds of job card holders from 19 villages, District Level Officers, line departments and DRDA officials including SP Isak Shah, MPS; CEO Rang Peter, MCS, ADC Kangpokpi, SDOs, Tribe Hohos, village leaders and all apex civil bodies including NPO, SDSA, SDWA and KSTC were also present on the occasion.
Moderated by William Maram, APO-DRDA, the programme proceeded with flagging off the job card holders for mass tree plantation at catchment area which is 20 kms away from the DHQ.
Transported in Shaktimans, more than 3000 villagers joined the tree plantation during which more than 1, 20,000 saplings of different types were planted.
