Appeal to cancel Sports University

Imphal, March 20 2015 : JAC of Affected Land Owners' Association Against Forced Land Acquisition for Sport University, Manipur will appeal to CM to cancel the project of '44 Yaithibi Laukol Sports University' .

JAC said, since eight months the residents and many section of the public has been appealing to the Government to save the homes and fields of Laukol.

However, no positive response was received, instead manipulation and criminal conspiracy has begun by MLAs and certain officials by submitting fake land owing documents and forceful transfer of land documents.

The decision came as a result of anomalies and force used in land acquisition process.

JAC adding on condemns the government's announcement of availability of land for the Sport University.

Hence, the MLAs and official authorities involved will be responsible for any unwanted incidents and agitations regarding the force land acquisition, said a press release by the JAC.
