HC directs Lokayukta Manipur to defer MSPCL case

The court of justice Ahanthem Bimol of Manipur High Court has directed Lokayukta Manipur not to take up any pending case related with MSPCL issue till Monday.
The court on Thursday conducted hearing of the writ petition Case No 171 of 2022 challenging Lokayukta Manipur's February 7, 2022 judgement relating to erroneous conduct of some top officials of Manipur State Power Corporation Limited (MSPCL) on certain works of the corporation.
The court then fixed further hearing of the case on May 23 along with MC (writ petition Case No 93 of 2022) .
During the hearing of the writ petition Case No 171 of 2022 filed by Thokchom Bimol and others as petitioners, respondents' counsel advocate Rarry Mangsatabam submitted the order passed by a division bench of the court on May 17 regarding writ appeal No 16 of 2022 .
Justice Ahanthem Bimol then fixed May 23 for further hearing of the case as MC (writ petition Case No 93 of 2022) to be heard on Thursday could not be figured in the list.
The case relates to challenging February 9, 2022 judgement of the Lokayukta Manipur which concluded that some top level officials of MSPCL did something wrong on certain activities of the corporation.
The Lokayukta Manipur judgement also recommended removal of guilty MSPCL officials and investigation against them by registering FIR.
The state cabinet discussed the matter on April 21 this year and made clear government's inability to take action due to pending case at Manipur high court and until court's order.
After conducting hearing of the case on May 9, 13 and 17, the court on Thursday resumed further hearing to arrive at an interim order.
