IDU declining in Manipur

Imphal, March 19 2015: The percentage of Injecting Drug Users (IDU) in Manipur has declined by 12.89%, said MACS Joint Director, M Abhiram at the district level sensitization and advocacy programme on HIV/AIDS held by DC, Imphal East in coordination with DAPCU, Imphal East and West and MACS NGO partners at Panchayat Bhawan, DC office complex, Imphal East.

Speaking on the occasion, M Abhiram said that almost every section of people in Manipur are aware of HIV/AIDS and its mode of spreading.

He also urged the police personnel/ Law enforcing agencies to conduct blood donation programme, which will be of great help.

Impact TV Chief Editor, Y Rupachandra and Care Foundation programme manager, L Surajkumar also spoke at the occasion.
