Imphal, February 17 2025:
The High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLCE) 2025 is set to commence from February 19, with 37,052 candidates appearing in 155 examination centres across the state.
The exam, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM), will continue till March 7 .
Addressing a press conference at the BSEM office, chairman Akham Joykumar informed that 93 examination centres have been set up in the valley and 62 in the hill districts.
He noted that female candidates slightly outnumber males, with 18,592 female students appearing compared to 18,460 male students.
To ensure smooth conduct of the exams, TO nodal officers have been appointed for centres in the hills, while inspection teams comprising teachers, student bodies, and civil society organisations (CSOs) will monitor the centres in the valley.
Additionally, special observers from the examination committee will inspect centres suspected of facilitating unfair practices.
Joykumar urged the public to refrain from calling bandhs, blockades, or general strikes during the examination period to allow students to write their exams without disruption.
He sought public cooperation in ensuring a peaceful atmosphere for the candidates.
He also appealed to media houses to verify any reports with BSEM officials before publishing to prevent the spread of misinformation regarding the examination process.
