Jiribam sit-in protests Kamalbabu case

In continuation of the agitation launched by COCOMI Jiribam District Council in connection with the missing of Kamalbabu, a sit-in protest was held at Lamlen Atingba (Hilghat, here, on Sunday.
The protest was participated by a large number of meira paibi activists, who expressed disappointment over the inability of the authority concerned to locate the whereabouts of Laishram Kamalbabu till date.
They also questioned why no action has been taken up against those involved in the brutal killing of eight persons in Borobekra, including six women and children.
The government should make its stand clear on actions to be taken against the Kuki militants, maintained the protestors.
They also demanded that the government corroborate claims of actions taken against senior SP (Combat) Nectar Sanjenbam, who opened fire and killed Khundrakpam Athouba, a student, in Jiribam.
The protestors used placards inscribed with messages such as "We Want Peace", "We Condemn the Missing of Kamalbabu from the Army Camp", "Save Innocent People", "We condemn imposition of AFSPA in Jiribam", "We Condemn arrest of village volunteers" and "Release Laishram Kamalbabu Immediately" .
