CPI to protest against loss of state's territory

Imphal, June 13 2022:
The 13th annual conference of CPI Thoubal District Council has resolved to launch a series of protests against losing of boundary of the state due to the ongoing border fencing work.
A statement of the party informed that the annual conference held at the district council's office located at Kakching town on Sunday discussed the loss of state's boundary due to the ongoing border fencing work.
The meeting observed that the BJP government is conceding large area of the state's land to Myanmar by constructing the border fencing one kilometre inside from the actual boundary.
Despite this fact, the state government is also remaining silent, the meeting observed while demanding to stop the border fencing work immediately.
CPI leaders Dr Moirangthem Nara and L Sotinkumar were also present at the meeting during which a 31-member district council was reconstituted.
The statement further informed that the annual conference of CPI Lilong local council was also held on Sunday.
The meet strongly condemned the unconstitutional and anti-secularism policies of the BJP government.
The annual conference of CPI Yaiskul local council held on Sunday also discussed the degrading political and economic situation of the country.
New local councils of Lilong and Yaiskul were also formed during Sunday's conferences, the statement added.
