Nupilal Ningshing Thouram held in districts

THOUBAL: The 85th Nupilal Ningshing Thouram was observed by Khangabok Joint Coordinating Committee (KJCC), at Khangabok Mayai Leikai ground on Thursday with Thoubal SP Rakesh Balwan as chief guest and KJCC president Kh Debabarta as president, while Khangabok Zilla Parishad member N Ramananda, World Meetei Council Manipur president Shyam Yumkhaibam, Khangabok Part-I GP caretaker chairperson Th Sobha, Part-II GP caretaker chairperson M Gopi, Part-Ill GP caretaker chairperson M Mohin were guests of honour.
Similarly, Athokpam Meira Paibi Apunba Lup observed Nupilal Ningshing Thouram at Athokpam Keithel with Lup president Kh Kripa and vice president A Bimola leading the public in paying floral tributes to the valiant Manipuri women.
JIRIBAM: 85th Nupi Lan Ningsing Numit Thouram was observed at Jiri Ima Meira Paibi Apunba Lup (JIMPAL) office on Thursday with social worker N Budhachandra as chief guest and Jiribam additional SP Thomas Thokchom and 38 Assam Rifles CO Prasant Singh as special guests, while JIMPAL president Longjam Bimola Devi, Apunba Jiribam Meira Paibi president Sagapam Susila Devi, Women Association for Socio-Economic Development president Naorem Nivarani Devi, Jiribam Women Association of Kangleipak president Thangjam Jini Devi, Women Welfare Organisation Kangleipak & All Manipur Women's Voluntary Association president Thokchom Priyadasini Devi, and Iramdam Kanba Apunba Lup president Longjam Koibi Devi were presidium members.
KAKCHING: Writers' Association (WA) observed Nupi Lal Ningshing Thouram at the residence of Kha Manipur College, retired principal Pukhrambam Raghu at Kakching Chumnang Leikai on Thursday.
The event was attended by District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Kakching retired principal Naorem Birmangal as chief guest, retired ZEO Pukhrambam Nimai as president and Kakching Higher Secondary School retired lecturer Dr Nongmaithem Pramodini Devi as guest of honour.
During the function, attendees paid floral tribute to the women martyrs along with holding patriotic poem recitation.
The gathering also observed a two-minute silence to condole demise of WA former president Pukhrambam Kunjo on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, candles were lighted at Irabot Park, Kakching Keithel by Jana Neta Irabot Ningshing Lup in connection with Nupi Lal Numit.
Meanwhile, Wangkhei MLA Thangjam Arunkumar on Thursday unveiled the Nupi Lal statue at Gobindapur Meetei village, Hojai, Assam, during the 85th Nupi Lal Thouram jointly organised by Patriotic Writers' Forum (PAWF), Manipur and Manipuri Women Literary and Cultural Organisations (MWLCO), Hojai in collaboration with Thambal Rising Club & Library, Gobindapur, Hojai.
The event was also attended PAWF, Manipur president Naoroibam Khamba Luwang, MWLCO founder president Renuka Yumnam and president Huirongbam Kunjabati as presidium members.
PAWF and MWLCO had installed the statue of Lamyanba Hijam Irawat at Nandapur, Hojai on December 10.During the function, the two organisations also presented citation and gifts to people who provided manpower and funds in installing the two statues.
