Joint ops conducted in Sugnu areas

Imphal, September 12 2024: A combined team comprising Kakching district police, BSF and Assam Rifles conducted operation to flush out miscreants and maintain law and order in several sensitive areas of the district.

The joint operation conducted from 11:30 am till 4 pm under the supervision of Kakching SP Th Vikram-jit also had ASP (L&O) A Romendro, Sugnu SDPO Ng Anthony Suresh, besides teams from the 131st BSF and 46 Assam Rifles.

The operation covered Sugnu town, eastern bank of Manipur River, Langching, and Sugnu Wapokpi.

Though no arrest or seizure was made during the operation, security authorities said similar operations will continue in the coming days to prevent unwanted incidents in the region.

Meanwhile, security forces recovered several weapons during a search operation carried out at Vaikul Lok Nala of Churachandpur district.

According to a press release by Manipur Police Control Room on Wednesday, security forces recovered one AK series Ghatak Rifle with magazine, three Improvised Pipe Mortars, two metres of safety fuse (improvised) during the search in Vaikul Lok Nala area.
