Alva's Foundation aids crisis affected families

Alva's Education Foundation, Moodbidri, Mangaluru, Karnataka under the aegis of its chairman Dr M Mohan Alva and managing trustee Vivek Alva extended financial assistance of Rs 10,000 each, amounting to Rs 1 lakh in total, to 10 families affected by the ongoing crisis in the state.
Manipuri Student Committee under the Foundation selected 10 families including women who have lost their husbands, families who lost their homes and families that are facing financial hardship due the prevailing conflict with Foundation's local coordinators Ajanta Moirangthem, Haobijam Dilip Singh and Moirangthem Abung handing over the assistances on Friday.
It may be mentioned that the Foundation has been regularly extending help to the people of the state including supporting students of North East region and Manipur, cultural activities and other issues to strengthen the bond of unity.
Alva's Education Foundation managing trustee Vivek Alva, in a statement, emphasised that the Foundation has always stood for the people of Manipur and will continue to do so in future.
The beneficiaries included family of deceased Khoirom Meiraba of Ithai barrage; Yangambam Modhubala of Bishnupur Ward No.8; Mayengbam (o) Bidyarani Leima of Pangaltabi Awang Leikai; family of deceased Haobijam Somen Kumar of Pangei; Yumnam Shyam Singh of Saiton Santipur Awang Leikai; Meikam Ibelei Devi, Konthoujam Leirenton Devi, Ksh Sonia and Moirangthem James Singh, all from Phougakchao Ikhai, Torbung and Konthoujam Nabachandra who is presently sheltering at Moirang Khunou Relief Camp.
