Only three Covid cases at Sambei now: Task Force

Detection of COVID-19 positive cases in Sambei village under Khundrakpam assembly constituency in Imphal East district has reduced significantly much due to concerted efforts of local MLA Th Lokeshwar and Sambei Second Wave Task Force with support of the local people.
According to task force convener N Netrajit, the number of COVID-19 positive cases in Sambei village was very high very recently but efforts of the task force and local MLA have managed to bring down the number of infection and only three positive active cases remain now.
With the initiative of local MLA, 489 out of 747 villagers were tested for COVID-19 during a mass testing conducted at Sambei community hall where several positive cases were detected.
The mass testing was conducted with the help of CMO Imphal East, he said, while reiterating that there are only three active cases in Sambei now.
Netrajit further said that MLA Lokeshwar helped the task force when several villagers contracted the virus recently and the MLA provided Covid fighting tools and equipment to the task force apart from distributing relief materials including rice and edible items to villagers.
