Outreach programmes held, sanction letters distributed

As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration, District Consultative Committee, Imphal East organised a customer outreach programme under Iconic Week being celebrated from June 6 to 12, at Panchayat Bhavan located inside DC Imphal East complex, Porompat on Wednesday.
IMC Ward No 20 corporator L Tombi, who was chief guest of the programme, said that it is imperative for the people to take help of the government as Manipur is an underdeveloped state.
It is also important for loan seekers to win the trust of banks and have the habit of repaying loan in time to the pave the way for real development in the state, he said, adding that there is nothing to worry about being poor.
The Centre launched various welfare schemes for the people but many such schemes could not be implemented fully in Manipur as banks don't trust the beneficiaries.
When there is healthy relation between banks and beneficiaries, all the schemes launched by the Centre would be implemented fully in Manipur, he said.
In his address, Punjab National Bank, Imphal East lead DM Y Ibochou said that the programme was conducted for as part of Iconic Week to make the people aware about various schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and also for presentation of sanction letter to customers.
The programme was also attended by Imphal East ADM Lenin Polem and SBI Porompat chief manager Namkoi Kangba as guests of honour.
Loan sanction letter for beneficiaries of various schemes were also distributed at the end of the programme.
According to our Jiribam correspondent, 'Customer Outreach Programme' was also organised by lead district manager (LDM), Jiribam at Sorok Atingbi, Khunou community hall under Hilghat Gram Panchayat, Jiribam on Wednesday as part of the week-long 'Iconic Week' (June 6-12) observance under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration.
The programme was attended by Hilghat GP pradhan L Samarendra Singh; upa-pradhan Y Amita Devi; retired SP Y Ashok Kumar Singh; Long Live Club president G Sarat Sharma; Panjel Club president H Ibomcha Singh and Punjab National Bank, Bandhan Bank, SBI and Manipur State Corporative Bank Jiribam branch managers as the presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission, Jiribam Block manager W Premchand informed that the programme has been organised by Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission in association with various banks of Jiribam under the aegis of LDM, Jiribam to raise awareness on various facilities provided by the banks to the people of Jiribam.
The event which was attended by members of various self-help groups (SHGs) in Jiribam and officials had bank managers explain ing about the services provided by their respective banks.
Similarly, as part of observance of Iconic Week, lead district manager Thoubal organised a 'Customer Outreach Programme' at counting hall, DC Thoubal Complex on Wednesday.
The programme was attended by Thoubal deputy commissioner Ahanthem Subhash as chief guest, LDM Thoubal Th Tunglut as president and Thoubal Municipal Council chairperson Th Shyamo Singh as guest of honour.
Speaking at the event, DC Subhash pointed out that loanees and bank officials have a huge responsibility in ensuring maximum benefits are reaped from the loans provided under several government schemes.
Loanees should use the amount judiciously and only for the project for which it has been provided.
One should also cultivate the habit of repaying the loan on time, he added.
DC Thoubal also asked the bankers to value their customers and to distribute as much loan as possible to farmers under Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme and other schemes.
As part of the event, sanction letters for various schemes such as housing loan, MSME, KCC, etc., were distributed to bene ficiaries along with presentation of awards to the bank managers whose bank branches provided loans the most.
