Incorrect info about Manipuri dance on BYJU'S website: KIMACS

While pointing out that website of educational platform, BYJU'S and Facebook page "Manipur GK" contain misleading information about Manipuri Dance, Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts & Cultural Society (KIMACS) has appealed to the state government and the department concerned to look into the matter and rectify the false portrayal.
Addressing the media at its Palace Compound office, here, on Wednesday, KIMACS secretary RK Leninson informed that on the website of BYJU'S, the answer to the question "Who is the father of Manipuri Dance" is given as Guru Bipin Singh with the same response also contained on the Facebook page, "Manipur GK'.
However, the question itself is rather un equivocal and confusing, considering that Manipuri dance is the rich cultural dance of the indigenous communities of the state, he remarked.
He continued that Guru Amudon, Guru Amubi and Guru Tombi, are considered and known as the three legs of Manipuri Classical Dance'.
However, when it comes to Manipuri Dance, it means the dances of the different indigenous communities of the state.
Stating that it is extremely unfortunate to see such incorrect information being uploaded bn the website and social media platform without proper research on Manipuri Dance; Leninson said that such careless mistake could lead the world to learn wrong information about Manipur Dance.
Thus, he drew the attention of the state government and the department concerned to look into the matter and see to the rectification of the same.
