Royal Riders, BJYM volunteers plant saplings

Members of Royal Riders Manipur on Sunday planted tree saplings at its office at Meetei Langol as part of its one month long 'Mahousha Ema Ningshing Tha' environmental campaign which started on May 6 .
The plantation programme was led by DGP Peter Doungel while officials of Langol Forest Range Office extended material support.
Speaking on the occasion, P Doungel hailed Royal Riders Manipur for their efforts and activities on environmental issues.
While noting that there is need for everyone to follow the Royal Riders in protecting the environment, he also stated that such programmes will only be meaningful if the saplings planted are taken care till they fully grow.
On the other-hand, as part of its phased programme, BJYM Manipur Pradesh volunteers planted different varieties of saplings atop the sacred Koubru mountain.
Around 100 BJYM Manipur Pradesh volunteers led by president Manoharmayum Barish Sharma and general secretary Rajkumar Mixan took part in the tree plantation drive.
According to Barish Sharma, the tree plantation atop Koubru mountain was conducted in coordination forest department , Kangpokpi division as part of chief minister N Biren Singh's green mission.
He also said that BJYM Manipur Pradesh is planning similar plantation drive atop Thangjing mountain.
