Imphal, September 07 2021:
All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) has pointed out that Nilapadma Higher Secondary School located at Sekmai is filled with shortages and is in sorry state of affairs.
In a release, AMSU Imphal West district committee information and publicity secretary Malemnganba Soibam informed that a team of the committee under the guidance of AMSU General Headquarters inspected the scnool and found in shabby condition.
Basic infrastructure of the school founded in 1947 is in a dilapidated condition today, it said and lamented that construction of the school building under RMSA that began few years back is yet to be completed.
As the construction of laboratory building which is vital for science stream remains incomplete, students have not been able to acquire adequate knowledge, he lamented.
During the inspection, it was found that the school does not have any teacher for teaching history subject in Class XI and XII.
In such a situation, how could the school produce quality students in this age of globalisation? AMSU wondered.
Pointing out that the government launched School Fagathansi Mission so as to ensure development of government schools, Malemnganba observed that Nilapadma Higher Secondary School, which is located not far from Imphal, has been neglected by authorities concerned for a long time.
Appealing to department concerned for posting history teacher to the school, he urged all concerned for finishing construction of the building and provide all necessary items to make a complete government school at the earliest.
