RIMS mulls trauma unit for dental college

Director of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Prof A Santa said that the institute is seriously thinking of having a separate trauma unit for its dental college and consultation process is on in this regard with the departments concerned.
The director revealed about the plan in his speech at the inauguration of Golden Jubilee event of Continuing Dental Education (CDE) Series at RIMS jubilee hall on Sunday.
Speaking at the function organised by Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Dental College of RIMS, Prof Santa expressed that the CDE series will not only be beneficial for the faculty members especially in the area of Dental Trauma Management but medical students too will have the opportunity learn a lot from the CDE series.
Further stating that many expensive and sophisticated equipment are being in stalled in RIMS Trauma Centre, he lauded the faculty members of Dental College for their invaluable contributions during the Covid 19 pandemic as Covid warriors.
The inaugural ceremony was also attended by RiMS medical superintendent Prof N Sanjib Singh, ISTD vice president Prof MS Muthu, general secretary Dr Nitesh Tewar'i and organising secretary Dr T Premlata Devi as presidium members.
