Imphal, November 05 2024:
Manipur Meitei-Pangal Welfare Organisation (MMWO) has warned of stringent actions against individuals who upload hate speech and post communal comments on social media which have the potential incite hatred among the blood brothers Meetei and Meitei Pangal communities.
Speaking to media persons at its Hatta Minuthong office on Tuesday, MMWO president Korimayum Boboi noted that certain individuals are spreading hate speech on social media, posting inflammatory content and making comments that could fuel animosity between the Meetei and Meitei Pangal communities.
He emphasised that the organisation is taking the matter very seriously, as it has the potential to undermine the long-standing, deep-seated bond of love and harmony between the two communities, a relationship that has endured through countless challenges.
"Actions Will be taken up against those Pangals who made inflammatory posts and comments against Meeteis on social media platforms," he cautioned, while seeking support from the people in addressing the menace of anti-social elements.
While urging organisations to look into those Meeteis making hateful posts and inflammatory comments which could hurt the sentiments of Meitei Pangals, he appealed for fostering a stronger bond of love, unity, and equality between the communities.
