Certificate course & interactive session conclude

Imphal, October 05 2024: A 60-day-long certificate course on "Prospective Managers/CEOs of Farmers Producing Organisations/ Farmers Producing' Companies" organised by Directorate of Extension Education, Central Agricultural University (CAU) Imphal in association with ICAR-Atari Zone 6 Guwahati, Pragjyotishpur University, Guwahati and NABARD Manipur Regional Office; and a two-day interactive session on "Technological Intervention To Enhance Production And Productivity In Agri & Allied Sector In NE Region" organised jointly by Directorate of Extension Education, CAU Imphal and ICAR-Atari Zone 6 Guwahati culmiriated on Saturday at CAU headquarters, here.

The programme was attended by ICAR-Atari Zone 6 Guwahati director Dr G Kadirvel as chief guest; Extension Education CAU Imphal director Prof Ph Ranjit Sharma as president while CAU Imphal comptroller Dr LM Garnayak; Director of Instruction CAU Imphal Dr TR Sharma and NABARD Manipur Regional Office deputy general manager Bendang Aier were present as guests of honour.

In his speech, DrG Kadirvel appreciated the participants and the faculties for the success of certificate course as well the interactive session.

He then appealed to the participants to utilise the knowledge they gained for the betterment of the society.

Prof Ph Ranjit Sharma informed that the central government had issued an order for formation of 60 Farmers Producing Organisations (FPOs) in the north east region under CAU Imphal.

Of the 60 FPOs, 30 have been allotted in Arunachal Pradhesh, 22 in Manipur, four in Tripura and four in Nagaland.

To ensure effective operation of these FPOs, the certificate course and the interactive session were organised for the CEOs.

Altogether 35 participants attended the programme.

In all, 138 topics were taught to the participants during the certificate course to update their existing knowledge.

As part of the closing function, certificates were distributed to the participants', followed by release of a compendium.
