One Tamilian killed at Moreh

Imphal, July 05 2013 :
One Tamilian was killed in a gunfight with a fellow Tamilian at Moreh Ward No.3 at around 3 pm today.
The deceased has been identified as S Samras (38), s/o Shantibiren of Moreh Ward No.3, while the shooter as Puniya (40), s/o (late) Vellachumi of Moreh Dalpani.
According to police, the incident happened when the deceased Samras had a heated argument with Puniya, following which both of them fired their licensed arms.
In the gunfight, Samras sustained bullet injury on his chest and belly while Puniya escaped unharmed.
Samras succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to Moreh Hospital.
Later, Puniya surrendered to 9th Assam Rifles with his .32 pistol.
Locals of Moreh rose to demand the arrest of the alleged shooter.
Moreh Police led by SDPO Balram pacified the protestors assuring strict action against the culprit.
The dead body has been kept at JNIMS Mortuary for post-mortem.
Meanwhile, vendors at Namphalong Market in Myanmar shut down their shops decrying monetary demand made by some underground outfits.
