FOCS condemns attack on women leader's house

Imphal, November 04 2024: Federation of Civil Societies Organisations (FOCS), Manipur strongly condemned the act of unknown persons opening indiscriminate firing (15 rounds) at the house of FOCS, Bishnupur District Committee, Women Wing secretary (organisation) RK Jandhi on November 2 around 11.20 pm.

Terming the attack at Jandhi's house in Ningthoukhong Gopinath as an act of cowardice, a FOCS statement urged the police to identify the culprits and bring them to justice at the earliest.

In a statement FOCS said that Jandhi has been shouldering the responsibility of protecting village volunteers by spending sleepless nights on the roadside since the attack launched against the Meetei community by Chin-Kuki terrorists to break apart Manipur since May, 2023 .

"Attacking Jandhi is condemnable and people should teach befitting lessons to reactionaries who point their weapons on innocent people," FOCS said and stressed the need for identifying the reactionaries.
