CM assures to fulfil CopMeV's demands

Chief minister N Biren Singh has reportedly assured to fulfil the demands made by Committee on Protection of Meetei Victims' (CopMeV) Moreh.
Representatives of CopMeV met the CM for the second time on Sunday around 2.30 pm at the CM's Bungalow after Saturday's interaction.
Officials of various departments, deputy commissioners and others also attended the meeting.
Speaking to newspersons in this regard, CopMeV chairman Leishangthem Ina-ocha informed that the Committee presented a 12-point charter of demands to the CM, who assured to fulfil the demands.
The demands include disbursement of pension under Ema Nongthang Leima scheme; funds entitled for displaced college students; Rs 100 travel and tuition fee for school-going and boarding students totalling up to Rs 3000 a month; designation of a nodal officer for relief camps; release funds for Old Age and Widow Pension; provide market space for IDPs to sell their products; payment of Rs 95 a day to IDPs as daily allowance to maintain their families; and distributing cooking gas and stove to the IDPs.
The CM accepted the demands and instructed the DCs concerned, health director and other top officials, which is highly appreciated, he said.
Inaocha further said that the Committee will meet the CM again to solve the prevailing crisis and allow the IDPs to return home at the earliest.
The representatives also consisted displaced persons from Churachandpur.
After the meeting, COPMEV relayed the news to the displaced persons staying at the Thongju Kendra Relief Camp in Akampat.
