Kakching, September 03 2014:
Claiming both sides of the road from Pallel Market to Aimol Khangoi in village number 52 (Pallel) under Dag no.2366, 2354, 2465 and 2427 as government land which once remained as a canal, Aimol Tribe Union has demanded the concerned authority to continue the eviction process at the earliest.
The government land, which had remained as a canal, was filled for construction of shops and houses, a statement of Aimol Tribe Union signed by President its Munthuireng Aimol and General Secretary Ch, Sote Aimol said.
It is unfortunate that some people having fake 'Pattas' for the said area have tried to obstruct the eviction process for widening of the road against the SDO Kakching order no.7/58/EVIC/SDO issued on August 26, the statement pointed out.
While demanding stringent punishment for the officials who issued 'Patta' on the said government land, the Aimol Tribe Union strongly denied the claim of encroachers that they own their original Pattas.
Saying that Aimol tribe Union is having the related important documents pertaining to the land, the statement further negated the claims made by the encroachers.
It may be recalled that in response to the application from Aimol Students Union Manipur for eviction of encroachers along the sides of Aimol-Kangoi road, the SDO, Kakching on August 26 last issued summons to remove the structures erected on the government land which was earlier a canal.
However, due to claims by the said occupants of the land, the eviction process could not be continued.
