74th Naoria Phulo Death Anniversary cum seminar held

The 74th Death Anniversary cum seminar on Naoriya Phulo was held on Tuesday at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul.
The seminar was organised by Lainingthou Phulo Charitable Trust.
Abdul Kalam, Deputy Director Manipur State Archives speaking on the occasion informed that a separate room will be allocated in the department for discussions on ritual norms before the end of September this year.
He also said that he will draw the attention of State government in allocating fund for regular sessions on ritual norm.
He also assured that he will provide fund from his salary if needed for the study on ritual norms.
N Tomba executive editor of Pandam said that the contribution of Naoriya Phullo in reviving Meetei mayek script is remarkable.
He also said that the script revival movement spearheaded by Meelal at one point of time took the reference of Naoria Phullo's work in certain areas and adopted few and incorporated them.
N Tomba also said that Naoriya Phullo is an ideal figure considering his contribution to the society.
A resolution was also made during the function in pressuring the authorities of Manipur University for inclusion of a chapter about Naoriya Phullo' life and work in the Bachelor or master degree syllabus from the next session.
Dr Arambam Lokendra, former HOD, AVRC Manipur University moderated the seminar on Naoriya Phullo.
Dr Haobam Indrakumar associate professor of Modern College, Dr Chungkham Bhagyachandra lecturer DM College of Arts, Dr Th Ranjit associate professor DM College of Science delivered on the works of Naoriya Phullo.
Abdul Kalam Deputy Director Manipur State Archives, Government of Manipur, NK Puthiba president Apokpa Marup, Sanglen Singjamei Akampat and N Tomba executive editor Pandam attended the function as dignitaries.
