Apna Dal (S) condemns killing of Athuan Abonmai

Imphal, September 27 2021: Apna Dal (Sonelal) has strongly condemned the brutal murder of Zeliangrong Baudi advisor and former candidate from Tamei assembly constituency Athuan Abonmai.

Apna Dal (Sonelal) state president Konthoujam Manoranjan told media persons at its Old Lambulane office here on Monday that Athuan worked whole heartedly for promotion of co-existence and integrity of both hill and valley people of Manipur and his brutal murder is highly condemnable.

While claiming that there was report of Athuan receiving warning from an underground group for his bold statement on the issues of ADC Bill and Manipur integrity, Manoranjan questioned as to why security was not provided to a person who got threat from underground group and why security personnel did nothing when Athuan Abonmai was being abducted right in front of them.

He then urged the present government to initiate steps to prevent such incident in future and rather than order inquiry after demise of peoples.

Regarding the 2022 general election, Manoranjan said that Apna Dal-S would accept application for party ticket from people who have educational qualification not less than graduation for fresh candidates but this condition will be relaxed for prominent and experienced politicians.

He, however, asserted that the party would not accept membership request from people who have not passed matriculation.
