Demise of thang-ta, religious proponents condoled

Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Society (KIMACS) and Apunba Huyen Lanlong have deeply condoled the demise of Thang-ta chief instructor (Sintakpurel) Saikhom Nodiya Mangang, who breathed his last at his Khurai Sajor Leikai Tharoijam Leirak residence on Thursday.
He was 93 In separate releases, the two organisations recalled that Nodiya took key roles in establishing All Manipur Cheibi Association (AMCA) in 1998 and other Thang-ta institutes.
He worked tirelessly and sincerely for preserving the indigenous martial arts Thang-ta.
Moreover, Nodiya also set the thang-ta syllabus for Class IX to XII under the education department and for Sport Science department of MU, the releases conveyed, while adding that his demise will remain a huge void which cannot be filled.
They also shared pain and grief of the believed family.
KIMACS stated that it will halt all its activities for three days including online and offline Thang-ta classes as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
On the other hand, Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN) has deeply mourned the sudden demise of Lainingthou Sanamahee Sana Pung (LSSP) founder secretary general Angom Lonja Alepa alias Naresh Meetei, who took active roles in preserving and reviving Sanamahi religion.
In a release, HERICOUN prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace in its heavenly abode and shared pain and grief of the bereaved family.
