Imphal, March 26 2025:
Federation of Haomee (FoH) president Sapamcha Jadumani has asked Union home minister Amit Shah to resign on moral ground as imposition of the President's Rule since February 13 has not been able to restore law and order in the state.
Addressing the media at its Kabo Leikai office on Wednesday, Jadumani also expressed strong resentment that in-spite of the home minister on March 4 assuring free movement along the national highways the same could not be translated into action.
As such, Amit Shah should tender resignation for failure to uphold law and order in Manipur, he reiterated.

While opining that cessation of attacks by Kuki militants at the juncture cannot be construed as restoration of peace, Jadumani also alleged that contrary to various stringent measures taken up in the valley districts since imposition of PR and valley village volunteers surrendering weapons, there has been no serious crackdown against the Kuki militants.
He also contended among the issues besieging the state, addressing illegal immigration, poppy cultivation, drug smuggling, large-scale destruction of forests and threat to territorial integrity should be accorded priority.
Moreover, the directive for conduct of delimitation exercise amid imposition of PR and the unsolved crisis, reeks of a hidden agenda to suppress the indigenous communities in collusion with Kuki militants, maintained the Federation president.
Jadumani also pointed out that removal of N Biren as the chief minister and re-imposition of AFSPA, 1958 in six police station areas falling within the valley districts are among the demands raised by Kuki organisations.
As the government of India has been acting in favour of the Kuki organisations and militant groups, the indigenes should take steps to neutralise advantages gained by the illegal immigrants, he stressed, while observing that the state's natives should weigh the option of approaching third parties if the government of India cannot restore law and order.
Reiterating that imposition of President's Rule has failed to restore law and order in the state, the Federation accused the government of neglecting key security concerns and allowing unrest to persist despite repeated assurances from Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The President's Rule has not led to any significant improvement in the security situation, and reminded Amit Shah that his assurance for free movement along national highways has proven ineffective as illegal activities continue unchecked, consequently aggravating public distress.
Reflecting in illegal immigration, the Federation accused the government of protecting certain individuals, including Zomi Revolutionary Army (ZRA) president Thanglianpao, a former Member of Parliament in Myanmar, and Kuki National Organisation (KNO) president PS Haokip.
It claimed that despite their alleged involvement in unlawful activities, the Indian government has failed to take appropriate action against them.
The Federation of Haomee also highlighted the worsening law and order situation in the state, alleging that issues such as poppy cultivation, drug trade, deforestation, illegal encroachments, and threats to Manipur's territorial integrity have intensified under President's Rule.
Additionally, the Federation of Haomee called for the repeal of the Armed Forces' Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from six districts in Manipur and urged the public to remain vigilant.
It warned that if the Indian government failed to take corrective measures, it would reinforce suspicions that Manipur was being destabilized under a broader political agenda.
President Jadumani urged for immediate intervention to address the prevailing issues, warning that prolonged inaction could have severe consequences for the state's security and governance.
