Women empowerment must for development: Janghemlung

A political awareness cum electoral campaign for Janghemlung Panmei, who is an intending BJP candidate for the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2022, was held at Phalbng Village in Tamenglong district on Wednesday.
Janghemlung, who will be contesting the state assembly election from 53-Tamenglong assembly constituency, said that he welcomes any feedback and suggestions so that he can bring changes, adding, "We need socio economic development, let's work together".
Disclosing that women empowerment is one of the areas he will be focusing on, Janghemlung said that women should seriously participate in politics as "we need women power to bring development in the society." He also informed that development of road infrastructure in the form of ADB road and Inter Village Road (IVR) will be carried out soon in the village, while asking the villagers to put faith in him and work together for future prosperity.
Worker of Janghemlung Panmei and intending ADC candidate, Charles Liangdiang Panmei highlighted some of the manifestoes of Janghemlung which included emphasis on socio-economic development, special assistance to farmers, women empowerment, improvement of road connectivity including Inter Village Road and health care centre, promotion of youth empowerment, provision of internet access, improvement of education system, proper drinking water and sanitation, eco-tourism development in Tamenglong, protection of tribal land and reaching the unreached area Speaking at the event, Lanrilung Panmei, chairman of Phalong village, declared that as decided by the Phalong Village Authority, support will be given to whoever gets BJP ticket, but the majority of the villagers are in favour of Janghemlung Panmei.
Many intending ADC candidates and segment political leaders also attended the political awareness programme.
Cultural dance, choreography, songs and Huai procession were performed as part of the event.
